The Extech MO50A is a compact, easy-to-use pin-type moisture meter designed to measure the moisture content inside materials like wood, drywall, concrete, and plaster. It’s widely used in construction, restoration, and inspection work to detect moisture problems such as leaks, dampness, or water damage.
Extech MO50A Offers
The MO50A operates using two metal pins that penetrate the material to transmit a small electrical signal. Because moisture affects electrical resistance—where higher moisture results in lower resistance and lower moisture results in higher resistance—the device measures this change and converts it into a moisture percentage reading. This pin-type method allows the meter to deliver highly accurate measurements of internal moisture content, rather than just surface-level readings making it a must-have tool for analyzing the after-effects of water leakage behind walls and in ceilings.
